A Week in Canada - Day 1

Siu Yan and I headed out for our annual year-end holiday trip to Toronto. Only this time, we brought along my sister and my niece! This is Ashley's 1st trip out of the country, so its bound to be a very exciting week for her.

We kicked things off by meeting Siu Yan's friend Beth and her boyfriend for dinner. The spot we planned to meet at was closed, so we ended up at a Pub around the corner. I'm sure that made a good impression on lil Ashley hehe

I was also amused by the cow giving birth.

Winter is Here...

With a vengeance!

yea... pretty mean time of year...

I hate the stuff.

Everyone please, please, please drive slow and safe.

Just between you and me, no one else has to know, you were slowing down because it's scary out there. OK?

This winter has come in claiming lives already.

(BTW, beautiful shot of winter grass. I printed it out for my fridge.)

Christmas Lights

This time of the year, many families like to decorate their homes in the spirit of the holidays. The decorations range from kitschy to tacky, from sophisticated to gaudy. But this..... this one is something else. It's like a homage to the electric company! Notice the houses to either side are completely dark, it's like they said "why even bother?!".

My guess is that they have a marijuana grow-op going on in there and they're trying to throw off the police by feigning Christmas spirit ... but you can plainly see that I've been jaded by the happenings here in Toronto recently Tue 21-Dec-2004 16:15

This house is so lit up, we saw it from the freeway just last night.
I think it is absolutely delightful. Pun intended.

Smartcars have arrived in Toronto

Spotted on the Don Valley Parkway
They are cute... but I wouldn't want to take it on the highway!

I'd love to get one.
Jeeps consume way more gas in the winter...

there's a dealership down the street from my condo ... they're just so funny looking ... they look like someone's chopped off half the car. Tue 21-Dec-2004 16:18

Yeah Lance, I bet your redneck truck is real safe with its primitive suspension. That is why I see them overturned all the time on the highway. Tue 8-Feb-2005 08:37
